About Chris Our Loch Lomond Coach

Our Coaching is about unlocking your potential to achieve

My name is Chris Sifleet and I am Head Coach at Swim 4 Miles. I began swimming in Luton Bedfordshire from the age of 4. My Dad used to say I could swim like a fish. Looking at the early films he took of me, a pretty poorly fish I would say, but with perseverance and determination I rose like a salmon and mastered all the necessary swimming strokes. I swam for the County of Devon in the freestyle and butterfly events but when taking part in swimming galas, I found that when I finished the longer distances I was just getting warmed up so decided to 'go long'. I swam Torbay, Windermere, Lake Bala in quick succession and then decided to swim the channel. In preparation for this I completed a two-way Torbay, Mew Stone Rock Dartmouth to Torquay, Eddystone Lighthouse to Plymouth, Lulworth Cove to Weymouth and return, two-way Windermere and other swims ranging from 2 to 10 hours. I swam the Channel in 14 hours 56 minutes landing at Sangatte beach in France.
